After laying low for a few years, Santigold is back in the buzzosophere with the announcement of her sophomore album Master of Make Believe. The new album, a follow up to the stellar Santogold of 2008 (how has it been that long?), is due out on May 1. Personally, I’m tickled for the new album and have dug what I’ve heard thus far. Santigold released a new video for the track “Disparate Youth” today, which was directed by Santi White herself. Additionally, she recently told Pitchfork that a trip to Jamaica with Diplo and their speed boat racing very much influenced the new album. Pretty sure parts of this “Disparate Video” were shot in Jamaica. Here’s to hoping that Santigold does what M.I.A. fell short of.
