While I’m still bummed about the recent Das Racist breakup, members Heems and Kool AD have hardly stopped with music. Both released quality mixtapes last year. Kool AD was back in the Bay performing with his former punk group and he actually dropped by my house in early January (#humblebrag cuz I was giddy) and continues to perform in support of his 51 mixtape. Heems dropped his Wild Water Kingdom tape recently, and now he’s got a new video for track “Soup Boys”. Timed with President Obama’s inauguration speech this morning, it addresses drone warfare. While there’s some commentary, it still features the trademark Heems approach.
