Despite some words in the wind that Thee Oh Sees we’re wrapping up shop after a monumental streak, the band is back in action with a new album on the way. After relocating from San Francisco to Los Angeles, frontman John Dwyer released an experimental electronic side-project as Damaged Bug. Luckily, that didn’t keep him from Thee Oh Sees as the band’s new Mutilator Defeated At Last album will arrive May 18 via Dwyer’s Castle Face Records.
You can stream Thee Oh Sees “Web” below, the new album’s first track. “Web” welcomes back Dwyer’s recognizable razor guitar licks, their classic driving rhythm and a nimble beat. Also scope their upcoming live dates. They’re playing a whopping nine shows at SXSW this year. John Dwyer is 40 years old, out there playing three times as many shows as kids half his age. Legend.
