Pickathon Festival draws nearer, as the Happy Valley, Oregon shindig starts tomorrow and runs through Sunday night. We’ve previewed a few artists in attendance this year, including Shabazz Palaces, Ty Segall and Cactus Blossoms. Fellow Pickathon act Divine Fits is no stranger to the festival scene after emerging last year. The oft-labeled “super group” composed of Spoon’s Britt Daniel, Wolf Parade’s Dan Boeckner and Sam Brown toured quite extensively on the release of their debut–and excellent–LP A Thing Called Divine Fits. Personally having seen them a few times, including SXSW this year, I can say that the individual experience of each group member comes through on stage. A guy certainly would not expect that this band is only a year or so old. Count them amongst the ranks of “to sees” at Pickathon 2013.
