We just had our 1,000th post, so it’s time to add something new to the arsenal. So, albeit the slightly unoriginal name, we’re addin’ Flashback Fridays to the mix. With Flashback Friday, we’ll focus on artists who are currently releasing new music (ie real time blogosphere shit, y’all). But we’ll share gems from their yesteryear catalog. So Flashback Friday volume 1 focuses on Grizzly Bear. The Brooklyn band’s fourth LP, Shields, became available for streaming earlier this week. And it’s damn good, easily one of the finest of the year so far. Back in 2009, Grizzly Bear shared this trippy, incredible claymation video for “Ready, Able”, a track from their 2009 album Veckatimist. Check her out.
