Seattleites diggin the soul vibes of hometown favorites Pickwick and Allen Stone may be familiar with local sound tribe Hot Bodies in Motion. But for anyone unacquainted with the group, Hot Bodies were one of our favorite live acts of Treefort Festival 2012. While their debut album Old Habits has definitely soundtracked many a drive of mine this spring, their live set was much grittier & groovier and leadman Ben Carson’s growling vocals had more room to roam and soar. This is fitting because Hot Bodies have a brand new live vid for “That Darkness” which they describe as “four guys playing a song live together–in one take.” The video takes place in guitarist Scott’s woodshop. Also note Scott’s guitars: at Treefort he explained to us how he builds his own geets.
Watch the new video below and catch Hot Bodies live in the PNW this summer at Bellingham’s Wild Buffalo on 5/26 and at Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party in July. Hot Bodies are headed to record with at Jupiter Studios with producer Martin Feveyear. Their sophomore album is due out sometime this fall. Stay tuned for more info.
