1. It’s all about discovery

Sure, we have of Montreal. We have Built to Spill. We have Blitzen Trapper and a ton of bands you know, but the Treefort team put a ton of time into curating the emerging artists on this roster. Treefort’s the kind of place where you can check out your favorite bands of today and then listen to the acts that’ll headline festivals in a couple years.

2. Get outside

Not only will Boise be jam packed with killer bands, you’ll have plenty to do during the day. Access to a seemingly endless amount of mountain biking (or running/walking) trails is just mile or two from the festival grounds. If winter sports are more your bag, a 20 minute bus ride will take you to a favorite ski resort of Boiseans.

3. Bring your walking shoes

When planning, we made it a point to have all of the participating venues within walking distance of each other. Just strap on those kicks and don’t worry about arraigning transportation.

4. Boise weather can be bonkers

Nothing keeps things exciting like Boise’s weather. This is the kind of place where you may be able to sun bathe in the morning and sled in the afternoon. Be prepared – you may want to grab a sweater as you’re packing up those shades.

5 …or bring your bike

Our pals at the Boise Bicycle Project will be hooking the festival up with bike corrals. You can use the bike corrals. For free. Just bring a lock (and a bike!). If bringing your trusty motor-less motorcycle is out of reach, just walk a block from the mainstage and you can rent one from Idaho Mountain Touring.

6. I hope you’re thirsty

Let’s be honest – we like beer. So do you. The adult beverage auteurs over at Breforia are putting together a special beer tasting space called Alefort. This spot will feature live bands and a ton of craft brews. There’s even a good chance you’ll even be able to get-in on a series of ultra awesome ales brewed especially for Treefort.

7. Get ready to learn

Yeah – music is awesome, but there’s plenty more to Treefort. We’ll have a handful of panels where experts will share their valuable music industry insight. With topics ranging from music journalism to the legal aspects of playing in a band, the knowledge will be flowing at Treefort.

8. Sleep is for the weak

The Treefort party is just getting going as most of the city falls asleep. With sets from araabMUZIK, Sepalcure, and Pictureplane starting at midnight or later, we really hope you don’t have any plans during the mornings of Treefort!

9. Don’t forget the locals

In Boise, we love our local bands. Which is why we sprinkled the finest Boise-based acts around the Treefort schedule.

10. It’s a small world

Obviously Treefort will have a ton of Boiseans present, but you’ll also be able to party with folks from all over the country. Music fans from across the west coast, Canada, and even as far as New Hampshire have snapped up tickets to the festival.
