Denver’s two man group Gauntlet Hair burst onto a lot of people’s radars with their insta-hit  “I Was Thinking” in early 2010. That track was well worn by many, myself included. So the news of a full LP from Gauntlet Hair was good news indeed. 2011’s self-titled album was soaked in reverb, full of distant, bouncing vocals and layered with ambience. Personally, while I dug Gauntlet Hair’s melodies, the multiple layers of reverb made it tough to distinguish the nuances of Gauntlet Hair’s tunes. As the group heads to SXSW 2012, I’m wondering how they’ll translate all those studio effects and reverb into the live setting.
