I’ve been hearing non-stop clamor of the goodness of Portland’s Radiation City for some time now. And to be honest, my brain held some weird “don’t touch” mechanism because we’re Apes on Tape and they put out cassette tapes on label Apes Tapes (#googleseorankingsbattle). Luckily, I’ve finally made it past that roadblock and enjoyed their beautiful, delicately crafted new EP Cool Nightmare. I highly recommend investing in that album.
Additionally, Radiation City has released a new video for track “Find it of Use”. The backstory to the video goes along these lines: drummer Randy Bemrose kept a piano in his basement and Radiation City used it for every conceivable sound possible during the EP recording process, the keys one of many audible uses. After the recordings, they laid they’re dear friend to rest and the “Find it of Use” video documents that. Watch for Radiation City at SXSW 2012.
Keep in touch, our simian brethren.
