"Shut Up And Play The Hits", the documentary film chronicling dance-rock group LCD Soundsystem's final days, hits theaters on July 18. If you see it, you'll probably be left wondering what the hell a former rock frontman does after the gig is over. James Murphy opened up to the New York Times about his new life. He's opening up a new "personal store" that will feature Chinese Speakers, Danish candy, stylish socks, travel luggage designed by Murphy himself and more. Odd collection of items... Additionally, while we all thought LCD Soundsystem had retired (hence all the hullaballoo about their final Madison Square Garden show and the new film), Murphy says the band might get together and record a song for a soundtrack. Apparently the band "seems to want to do" the song. Stay tuned for more details on their unretirement. And check out our review of the upcoming Shut Up And Play The Hits plus a short film on LCD's relationship to NYC.
