kithkin apes on tape 100k
We’re counting down the days until we pack into downtown Portland, Oregon for the Apes on Tape 100K Party. We’re giddy about all of the bands performing, so we’ll be including preview features on each of the four performing bands this Saturday. First up is Seattle’s Kithkin. If you’ve been following AoT closely over the past year or so, you’ve most likely read about them before. In short, Kithkin is a four-man act out of Capitol Hill’s Seattle University responsible for some of the liveliest and dancey music in the Emerald City in the past year. They released their self-produced Takers & Leavers EP last winter. After honing their chops in many sweaty basement party shows and the EMP’s Sound Off! competition, they moved onto the Seattle venue circuit playing such venues as Neptune Theater. Consistent dedication and some love from the KEXP local charts helped get their youthful, jungle-rock into Seattleite ears and they made their way to festival sets at Capitol Hill Block Party and Doe Bay. Anyhow, as usual, it’s far more effective for you to just check out their tunes and videos than hear me ramble. Stream their new single “Peacock“, check out the guest playlist they compiled for us and enjoy a few versions of their shreddage below.

The Apes on Tape 100K Party goes down Saturday, September 1st at Kelly’s Olympian in downtown Portland
