Oaktown Indie Mayhem (OIM) Records will be releasing a compilation album featuring Bay Area bands on June 23. One of the OIM comp’s bands is Yassou Benedict, former residents of Upstate New York who now live in San Francisco. Yassou Benedict’s “YoungBlood” offers an excellent introduction to the band for anyone unfamiliar. Yassou’s five multi-instrumentalists craft nocturnal vibes on a track that Lilie Bytheway says is “a true story of a very, very, long late night walk as a teenager to be with the person I was madly in love with.”
