Enigmatic Canadian R&B act The Weeknd have announced their first American show date. On September 15, band leader Abel Tesfaye & co will play Vice‘s Upfront Extravaganza at New York’s Skylight One Hanson. The Weeknd will be joined by A-Track, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Black Lips, the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Nick Zinner and others. While the Weeknd joined Drake for a live performance in Toronto in July, this will be the group’s first venture south of the Border. Check out the video for recently released “The Birds (pt 1)”.
