Oakland’s Waterstrider will release their debut LP Nowhere Now on April 6. The five-piece previously shared album tracks “White Light” and “Calliope”. Now we can add the title track “Nowhere Now” to that list. As Waterstrider’s frontman Nate Salman noted, “this song is probably the culmination of everything I’ve been creating for the last few years.” Watching the band hone and release “Redwood“, prepare and conquer a national tour with Gardens & Villa, finish the Nowhere Now recording process and continue sharpening their live rendition of the songs, I would have to agree.

During Waterstrider’s recent Noise Pop show at the Independent with Cathedrals, there was a moment when all five members were smiling and laughing during “Nowhere Now”. For a band that’s poured so much into this album, the joy of the moment was luminous. Let the studio version of “Nowhere Now” lead you into similar territory.

You can pre-order Nowhere Now and receive downloads of all three singles. All hear Nate Salman’s new interview with KQED.
