So we’ve left all the SXSW, Austin madness behind and rocketed up to quiet little Boise, Idaho for Treefort Festival. It’s about 1000 miles in four days but I’m sure glad the #prehype has finally gotten up to the Inland Northwest because I’m pretty sure Boise is gonna be a little louder this weekend. We’ve gone through some of the bands that we are excited for up here but I had to add at least one more group to that list: Delicate Steve. We are talking about a band that’s doing it up from Jersey and making real music, pushing boundaries and all that jazz. The best term I could come up with to describe it was “MathFolk”. But that doesn’t even come close to describing this instrumental five piece.
Another bonus is that they just played SXSW Saturday night and therefore are driving to Boise at around the same rate we are (about 1,800 miles in 4 days) unlike many of the Treefort bands who left Saturday morning. They bring it with high energy shows and exemplar musicianship with a lot of creativity thrown in. Sounds like a Densmore #Prehype gem and a Treefort “must-see”.
