I’m working at a coffee table with a copy of Austin Monthly magazine, and the cover sports a lanky, dusty 20-something. The caption reds “A Star in Our Midsts: Gary Clark Jr is setting the music world on fire”. While there may be a bit of sensationalism goin on, Gary Clark Jr. certainly is a wicked guitar player. Moreover, his hometown of Austin seems to love him more than ever. So when Clark takes the stage at SXSW in a handful of days, you can guarantee it will be a packed house. Clark has been compared to Jim Hendrix, Eric Clapton and a number of guitar gods.
