In the autumn of 2010, rockers Imagine Dragons struck out on their inaugural tour. Introducing themselves to the world beyond their hometown of Las Vegas over the course of a month, the band travelled humbly. Sharing the stage with Nico Vega and Saint Motel, the three acts took turns warming up crowds from Seattle to San Diego. In the latter city, the group faced disappointment when local alternative station, 97X, cancelled their scheduled interview. Just two years later, the same station would promote Imagine Dragons as their “Next Big Thing” artist, hosting an exclusive concert in San Diego’s Pacific Beach.
Since that time, Imagine Dragons, composed of Dan Reynolds, Wayne Sermon, Ben McKee, and Daniel Platzman, have visited the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, riding the success of the video for their hit single “It’s Time”. Not long after, the group released Night Visions, their chart-topping studio album and embarked on a national tour with AWOLNATION.
Lucky Northwest fans can catch Imagine Dragons at Portland’s Roseland Theater either tonight, October 3rd, or at an encore performance the following night. Following their stop in the Rose City, the group visits Vancouver BC on the 6th before doing an about-face and racing to San Francisco for their appearance at the Great American Music Hall on the 8th.
