As Boise’s Marshall Poole prepares to release their debut full-length album Totems on November 7, we’re excited to share the premier of Totems album track “Evil Eye”. Those who joined us at the Apes on Tape showcase at Treefort Fest 2015 surely remember Marshall Poole’s riveting and raucous Friday performance.
For anyone unfamiliar with Marshall Poole, “Evil Eye” is a excellent entrance point. The collective work of “a Feminist, an Acid-Cowboy, and a Stranger” (or Melanie Radford, Rider Soran and Michael Hoobery if you’re into real names) is on full display. Marshall Poole “Evil Eye” demonstrates the band’s no bullshit approach, gripping energy, and their balance between volume and precision. Soran’s strong vocals are matched by Radford’s on point harmonies and soulful vibratto.
Regarding Totems as a whole, Radford shared, ““It’s gonna be pretty dark. We went through a lot of personal turmoils this last spring and summer so we’re releasing something angrier, weirder, and much heavier this time.” You can catch Marshall Poole’s album release show on November 7th at the WaterCooler in Boise, Idaho.
