So we’re starting a new chapter here at Apes on Tape, time to add a little more voice to the site. Literally. A handful of readers might know I was involved with starting the U of San Diego Radio Station, but figured timing is ripe to bust out the old microphone and get back to talkin’. We’re proud to launch our new podcast “Sound Excited”. The premise is simple, there is only one rule: we’re gonna talk to people who sound excited about music. With as much “doom & gloom” as a guy’s gotta hear from the music world every day, thought it would be advantageous to highlight people havin a good time with music.
Our inaugural Sound Excited features Dan Patenburg of Oregon’s the Autonomics. Aside from delivering up-front, guttural, rock, Dan also shares a deep love for the Strokes as do I. Dan and I chatted about their new album Comedown Machine, the utter significance of Is This It and the dots in between.
Also, you can definitely hear me drinking a beer and scratching my beard. I’ll make sure to work on that for the next one.
