Over two years ago, we stumbled across the instantly-catchy track “One Time” by Philadelphia’s Marian Hill. Their five track Play EP, which included “One Time”, was solid all the way through. Fortunately, Play found many a fan since the EP’s release and Marian Hill (the duo of Jeremy Lloyd & Samantha Gongol) toured extensively behind the album. Since we shared “One Time”, I’m no longer surprised to hear “One Time” in airports or coffee shops.

Today, Marian Hill dropped their new single “Down”. The track begins with minimal piano instrumentation behind Gongol’s vocals before the beat kicks in near the minute mark. Gongol’s iteration of the track title gets sampled, cut up and pitch-shifted through the rest of the track. No word yet if this means a Marian Hill EP is on the way.
