Revisiting and reinterpreting bygone eras of music is no new musical trend. From Joey Bada$$ to Jessica Pratt to Pickwick, newer takes on older trends still lead to worthwhile listens. Wherever you stand on the issue, you’d be hard pressed to find a more accurate throwback to early 60’s gospel soul music than Fort Worth’s Leon Bridges.

The twenty-five year old Texan recorded his most recent tunes with several members of Austin’s White Denim.
