Cat Power, aka Chan Marshall, will return with her first original-material album since her 2006 gem The Greatest. The new album, Sun, will arrive on September 4 via Matador Records. Reportedly, the album was finished after Marshall’s breakup with longtime boyfriend and actor Giovanni Ribisi. Hopefully Chan’s doing alright, but hey, at least it means a new Cat Power album for us.
