We’ve got two tidbits of Black Keys news for ya. First, the awesome news. According to an interview with Keys’ drummer Patrick Carney, the band is preparing to record another new album in a few weeks. It’s only been about six months since they released their latest LP El Camino, but they’re getting after it. According to Carney:

We don’t know when we’ll be done but we’re starting it in July. We might not finish it until March since we have to tour so much but we’ll see. We don’t know what’s going on. After July, we’ll be able to know how long it’ll take

So stay tuned for more details on that as it materializes. Industrious dudes… And the rough news: after LCD Soundsystem and Beach House (among other bands) both were ripped off for commercials, the Black Keys are now suing Pizza Hut for a very obvious ripoff of their song “Gold on the Ceiling”. That commercial is below, you can hear the blatant similarities. Typically, ad companies get away with this due to the legal fees indie bands would incur. But the Keys aren’t letting that happen. Good for them. And ad companies: stop ripping off bands.
