Spokane, WA natives the Globes celebrated the release of their debut album Future Self (Barsuk) with a double header show at the Baby Bar. An ample hometown crowd turned out for the Tuesday night treat, which took place just a handful of blocks away from where band members went to high school. The set featured a Beatles opener, a surf jam and a full dose of the new Future Self. While the crowd demanded an encore, the band had actually run entirely through their tracks. Fortunately, they played ad-lib versions of the “Hey!” song (via: Jock Jams) and the Teenage Ninja Turtles theme song (well played, gentlemen…)
While you may not have heard of Spokane or the Baby Bar, don’t let that put you off. Barsuk’s new additions have opened for Maps & Atlases and Twin Door Cinema Club, will open for Archers of Loaf soon, and will be playing at Sasquatch.
