In early February, we shared a new track from Melbourne’s Hoodlem. After releasing the hypnotic “Old Friend” in March 2014, this was Hoodlem’s first track since then. We expected it might lead to their debut EP and that turned out to be the case. On March 25, Hoodlem will release their self-titled EP. On that note you can pre-order the Hoodlem EP here. The five track EP will feature “Old Friend”, “Kintsugi”, new single “4 Real” as well as two unheard cuts.

Hoodlem “4 Real” finds the band continuing to develop their sonically refined palette. Hoodlem’s use of crisp synths, looped vocals, heavy low-end and negative space are at work in “4 Real”. While the band is typically cryptic, they shared the following about “4 Real”:

It’s a headphones song. There’s lots of hidden detail in this one, I really loved mixing it with Andrei Eremin. We found so much within it and I can’t wait to play it one live again with the whole EP.
