Childish Gambino, the rapper alter-ego of Donald Glover, is readying a double mixtape called STN MTN / KAUAI to be released via Gangsta Grillz. There’s no set release date for that yet. But Glover did share and album track this week. Childish Gambino “Sober” is from the Kauai side of the album. “Sober” features a singing approach for Gambino, rather than the typical verses. Perhaps it’s his way of showing he can hang with Drake (see “Hold On, We’re Goin Home“). Sidenote: it seems STN MTN refers to Stone Mountain, GA where Glover grew up. We’ll keep you posted on any release date for the album.
