treefort rose quartz
By: Fiona Hannigan

With bright, catchy beats, synth grooves, and vocals that are at once soaring and breathy, Denver’s Rose Quartz manages to be both earnestly introspective and downright fun. The band has developed a heavier, more analog sound, but is still carried by smooth danceable beats. Rose Quartz’ Red Bull Sound Select approved jams further add to Treefort’s expanding electronic palette.

It’s been an exciting time for the group, with extensive touring including a recent tour with Generationals, new band members, and releasing January’s sonically matured Axis of Love EP. Rose Quartz was born out of the creative visions of Ethan Converse and Alex Anderson, with roots in chillwave and noise pop. Informed by their past musical ventures, the duo has since doubled in size and solidified their sound. Rose Quartz now consists of Converse (Lead Vocals, Keys, Production), Anderson (Bass, Synthesizers, Keys, Vocals, Production), Matt Tanner (Drums, Percussion), and Clay Cornelius (Guitar, Bass). Tanner and Cornelius have enlivened the band’s stage performance and musical sound, adding depth, character, and cohesiveness.

Don’t sleep on Rose Quartz at Treefort this year. They are sure to put on a fresh, lush show Friday (March 27) at the Apes on Tape showcase at 4pm.
