Rachael Yamagata may not be a household name but given her bio, that seems to suit her just fine. Being self-diagnosed as “stage-fraught – but you’d never know it” and “good with cats”, the Virginian has had a quiet but enduring career playing with the likes of David Gray, R.E.M., and Patti Smith. Noted by NPR has having “a guts and sexiness” her breathy tones are reminiscent of singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne, another sometimes collaborator.
Lucky Chicago, Portland, LA, Alexandria, Philly, and NYC fans can catch Rachael’s special performances celebrating her decade-old debut LP,Happenstance. Less fortunate fans can still catch her on tour playing new music in 28 North American cities this fall.
