Peaking Lights 'Conga Blue'
Peaking Lights continues their impressive and interesting run as they dropped a new single today. The duo of Aaron Coynes and Indra Dunis began in San Francisco in 2008. They moved to Madison, WI and eventually relocated to Los Angeles while creating a number of great albums (936, Lucifer, Cosmic Logic).
Today, we have Peaking Lights “Conga Blue”.  The new cut signals a bit of a change of direction for Peaking Lights. Their past material centered on dub-influenced, psyche. “Conga Blue” shifts towards disco with bright, upbeat elements.  “Conga Blue” features a Peter Gabriel style wah (or Daft Punk RAM style, for those unfamiliar with Gabriel), layered synths featuring lead melodies against arpeggios and Indra Dunis’ vocals throughout. The nearly seven minute track moves through several phases and iterations while the conga beat stays steady.
