Listen Out Sydney 2015
By: Marisa Marlowe

This past weekend the Australian festival season in Sydney kicked off with Listen Out. The festival hits four of the biggest cities in Australia: Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. This annual event put on by Fuzzy is renown for amazing line-ups and starting off the spring and summer party season. It was hosted in Centennial Park and blessed with a beautiful sunny day and clear night. The layout was perfect for a day festival, the stages were spaced out nicely, there were shaded areas, free water, and the vendors were in convenient locations. Listen Out is a great testament to the homegrown and genuine Australian festival culture; providing a great and clean space for music lovers to see their favorite artists as well as discover new ones.

Last year the festival brought in a stacked line-up with artists like Zhu, Flume, Ta-ku and Chet Faker. This year’s line-up was just as big having an excellent blend of local and international hip-hop and dance music; hosting the likes of Childish Gambino, Joey Bada$$, Golden Features, Roland Tings and Client Liaison. Two of the top-billed artists were Sydney based Alison Wonderland and Golden Features. Alison Wonderland is gaining a global following after her Coachella debut this year and Golden Features has been making huge moves since signing to Warner Music last year. It is always exciting to see a local artists career growing like Golden Features who headlined the same stage he opened up the year prior.

Listen Out has good music, people, drinks, food and location all wrapped up into one. It’s vibe and on point line-ups make it a must on the festival checklist. The good news is that this is the first of many epic parties brought to you by Fuzzy, with Harbour Life coming up in November and the much-anticipated New Years Day party Field Day.
