Recently, we shared the much slept-on No Smoking album from nimble electronic R&B artist Ed Balloon. The five track album found Ed extending the range of typical “electronic meets R&B”. Today, Ed shared a follow-up single to No Smoking. Ed Balloon “Bounce Back” features upbeat, guitar and piano based instrumentation while Ed handles heavier lyrical material. Ed shared the following on “Bounce Back”, which he recorded during Black History Month.
It is a statical approach to getting at your climax of your anger against being under represented or appreciated in society because of skin color… And so it is common for black people to laugh at their pain , it is a defense mechanism. But overall it is a realization that life is unfair, and so you have to just take what is given and pray that you have the voice to change the world with what you have.
